Reading Notes: PDE Ramayana Part B

These notes are from "Rama and Bharata" from Indian Myth and Legend by Donald A. Mackenzie

Plot Notes:

+Cute reunion between the brothers. They have a nice bond, even after what Rama's mother pulled
+Bharata is a good one!!
+Danggg, Rama still wants to stay in exile
+Jabail. Seems like a voice of reason
+His advice seems a little off for a priest
+"in the hope that they will reach a Paradise which does not exist" Like...huh?
+I thought honoring the dead (and parents) was a big deal
+He wants Rama to end the exile!
+Maybe he's working with the queen?? Or maybe he's dumb? Or evil! Maybe he's just there to             show what someone that lacks virtue is like.
+Rama is rejecting Jabail!! Woo, a hero! He decides that the right thing to do is stay in the jungle. He honors the demand of his father.
+"A good man is distinguished from an evil man by his deeds. How can I, who have embraced a virtuous life, turn now into the path of evildoing?"      +This shows why Rama is great/honorable
+Bharata is wanting to stay with Rama!! What a good brother! (Love him!)
+They are both staying in the jungle??
+They don't remember their father's last command. oops.

Characters:

+Rama and Bharata are both honorable and cool
+ Jabail is smart, yet lacks virtue
+Jabail plays the role of a wayward priest

I would like more info on Jabail. I would also like to explore the relationship between Bharata and Rama. Why are they so close??
